WHY TAKING PART IN DRAMA FESTIVAL IS A VALUABLE EXPERIENCE?
Every year there is a Drama Festival at Tone Čufar’s theatre. Classes of Jesenice Grammar school apply to take part in Drama Festival. We can prepare our own theatre performances. Both the audience and the performers usually enjoy a lot. I think that at the end almost everybody is satisfied with our work. A lot of classes decide to join the festival the following year again to gain more valuable experience and to have some fun as well.
I think that everyone can be a part of Drama Festival because there are many ifferent things to do. Some prefer being screenwriters, other lighters, we could be directors, dancers and there are also a lot of actors needed. Everyone learns a lot. I believe that the majority of students do not often stand on stage and prepare their performances. We have to organise ourselves and prepare everything, because we do not get any help while we are making the performance. In the end critics give us advice for the next year. In my opinion, it is a great achievement for each class taking part. Each class try to do our best and I think that all theatre performances are good, some are even excellent.
I believe that students in each class become more connected while preparing theatre performances. We become better friends as we have to talk with others. We socialize not only at school but also in the afternoon. We have to share our ideas about the scene, script, costumes, etc. Then we have to explain our suggestions and, finally, we have to choose the best one. In addition, there is also a lot of coordinating. We have to adapt to each other. Sometimes we argue because we cannot decide which idea is the best. However, we have to reconcile soon and work together until the end. I believe it is important to learn all those things because they are important also later in life.
In my opinion, Drama Festival is one of the best things our school organises. Being a part of Drama Festival has a lot of benefits. It gives you a lot of new knowledge about theatre performances and teaches us how difficult it is to prepare a good play. Students also get a lot of valuable experience related to theatre. The festival is becoming more and more popular. Some classes traditionally take part years. What is more, every year a lot of new classes decide to participate in the festival. I hope that Drama Festival will have a long and interesting future.
